Evening
shadows fall,
and daylight is no more.
The silence of the sun
slipping stealthily from my horizon
echoes my somber grief.
No lamentation can encapsulate
my twilit pain,
no avalanche of tears
can wash away my woe.
My soul descends into darkness
and I fall upon your stone,
helpless, disconsolate,
and alone.
