IN DREAMS

You come into my dreams sometimes at night,
and I can feel you lying by my side;
then briefly all the world is turned aright,
and I forget the lonely tears I've cried.
Perhaps you come to comfort for a while
because you see the pain inside my soul,
and knowing that your presence made me smile
and once again your touch can make me whole.

I guess, my Love, I'll never really know,
if from the distant Place that you are now,
you take your leave to visit me below
to solace me with kisses on my brow.

But, Love, I know my heart still wants to weep,
so come to me if only while I sleep.
